Pusat Khidmat ADUN Canning have organised a Lantern Festival Celebration and Kids Lantern Procession at Kg Simee yesterday (11/9/2011). The Celebration has attracted more than 600 peoples and at least 350 parents and kids have joined the Kids' Lantern Procession for 1.5km in Kg Simee. This is the first time in recent years where the traditional Lantern Procession is being held in Kg Simee.
We have also the participants from our Malays and Indians friend for the kids procession. Children were also given a free lantern, goodies begs and dinner packs. Buffet Dinner were also provided to the attendees.
"We are happy to see so many kids have joined in the procession tonight, and notably there are quite a numbers of kids from Malay and Indians family. We believe that this is the truly Malaysian Spirit and again it shows that Malaysians can live together harmoniously if without the sabotage by some quarters who were practicing racial politics. It is also time for each and everyone of us to treat ourselves as the true Malaysian, enjoying equal rights and opportunities on this land."
